Brent Florence was born in Ojai, CA. June 16, 1976. Brent completed his General Education requirements at Santa Barbara City College before his acceptance into the University of Southern California school of Cinema-Television. Prior to beginning his studies at USC, with two friends, Brent produced, directed, edited and marketed his first movie, ONE TRACK MIND, a 60 minute nonfiction surfing film which was sold and distributed throughtout the East and West coasts, Japan and Australia. Brent also earned a supporting role acting in the feature film WALKABOUT. The film received honorary awards at The Vancouver International Film Festival.

Directly following WALKABOUT Brent started the program at the USC where he spent the next two years immersed in film. In those years Brent was involved in the production of 26 student films. In 1998 he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Cinema/Television from USC. Through Brent’s senior year at USC he completed a feature length script entitled THE SOLID ONES. Within a year of graduating Brent had formed the company S and J Entertainment which teamed up with Lloyd A. Silverman (Snow Falling on Cedars) and The Artists’ Colony to produce THE SOLID ONES. Brent wrote, directed, produced and starred in THE SOLID ONES.

The film received audience awards and acclaim at each of the festivals it has screened at including THE CHICAGO HD FILM FESTIVAL, THE CINEVEGAS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, THE OJAI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL and THE DIGIDANCE FILM FESTIVAL in Park City, Utah. The film was sold and distributed by New Horizons and was retitled A GIRL, THREE GUYS AND A GUN. Brent hates the new title.
